Axis 4 – Cybersecurity and Data Protection

Axis Coordinator: Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro (Télécom SudParis)

Network and distributed systems are prime targets for attacks. Future networks must fully address security and privacy challenges, while integrating new paradigms for digital transformation.

The scope of this axis encompasses a wide range of topics tackled from a security management perspective, but including all the areas of activity of its members, from physical layer security to emerging security communication technologies. The aim is to study, understand, and promote internationally accepted solutions for security and privacy issues affecting today’s networks and systems, including IoT, connected autonomous environments, and future quantum networks.

The objective is to facilitate organizational transition to integrate new solutions, as well as to understand the adaptation of current methods in the context of technological advances. This includes as well operational research activities involving real-world problems, such as resilience of critical networks, law enforcement assistance, and improvement of regulation via technology.

Kick-off: The axis officially launched on April 2025, during the activities of the 3rd CRITICS workshop on Cyber Resilience of IT/OT Infrastructures and Complex Systems, including presentations and discussions centered around the following topics:

Next planned activities include seminars and workshop presentations. If you want to join and participate to this axis of the center, please submit your request using this form.
